The Role

  • ​Full-time / Remote

  • As Account Manager & Growth Strategist, you are the primary point of contact for clients, strategically steering the ship for each of their advertising projects.
  • ‘Outstanding client relationships’ is our #1 priority at Grip. That means developing the relationships you’re in charge of to ensure those clients are over the moon.
  • Through your strategic guidance, the profitable ad spend per account grows to its optimal, max monthly spend, and clients under your management introduce other client prospects due to the outstanding experience and results they achieve.
  • You have a sixth sense for client needs and it’s deep within your nature to provide world class service, exceeding what anyone else in the industry would consider and far beyond what the client would naturally expect.
  • You will also bring your extensive direct-response marketing knowledge by coordinating a team of media buyers, copywriters, creatives and data analysts to deliver campaigns and insight that drive behemothic growth and leave other agencies in the dust.

The Responsibilities & The Impact You'll Have

Project Management

  • Anticipate client campaign needs, and take action to address them before they even ask.
  • Be 100% in touch with the numbers throughout each client’s ad account and sales funnel(s) at all times.
  • Review and sense check daily performance reports as submitted by the media buyers on a daily basis.
  • Identify strategic opportunity to increase profitable spend month over month with your extensive direct response marketing and media buying knowledge.
  • Manage a Project Backlog for each client which identifies the top 3 priorities for both Client and Agency each week, ensuring client and team are laser focused on the next needle driving move.
  • Manage Communication both with the internal team and Clients ensuring 100%, crystal clear alignment.
  • Adherence and enforcement of internal and external communication policies and Service Level Agreements. (notifications must be turned on including in Slack Threads) and response to clients prompt within 2 hours during ‘office hours’ and 24 hours for emergencies over the weekend.
  • Inbox Zero (Both Slack and Email) 3 times a day. First thing after the AM focus meeting, Middle of Day and 1hr before logging off to allow for scheduling and tidy up to plan tomorrow today.
  • Build and maintain effective and productive routines for daily, weekly and other cadence related tasks. Time Allocation mastery.
  • Project management - the conductor to the symphony of continually evolving client projects, constantly orchestrating campaign masterpieces and supporting our internal team to excel in their expertise and deliver ground-breaking results
  • Client Liaison - the first point of contact for clients, taking their requests and developing them rapidly into actionable strategies with the internal Grip team. Your communication is world class, timely and professional
  • Reporting - maintenance of real-time client reporting dashboards which are the bedrock to how our clients see the amazing results we drive. Leading efficient weekly client calls to communicate ‘wins’ and ‘work-ons’ for the week to delight our clients and drive their campaigns skywards
  • Campaign Strategy - using your extensive direct response marketing background combined with world-class creativity you will bring together multi-channel advertising campaigns that work together in perfect harmony.
  • Big Picture Focus - Understanding how campaigns work in harmony to bring new Top of Funnel traffic, nurture, and convert ever colder leads as campaigns scale to $1M per month in spend and beyond.
  • Expert level understanding and interpretation of ‘funnel math’ in order to identify true constraints in campaigns and implement strategies to directly resolve, whether that be internal projects, or by briefing out projects to the client.
  • Internal Development - alongside our leadership team you’re constantly working to develop cutting edge, faster, more effective and more profitable ways of serving our clients and organizing our internal teams.
  • Team Leader - As a senior member of the team you actively participate in daily team huddles and weekly client calls providing guidance and mentorship where appropriate.
  • Helping to scale - we’re growing and scaling. That at times brings challenges in demands and future pacing. You will play a pivotal role in helping this to happen at pace.

In summary, as Account Manager you will be responsible for stewarding our high level client accounts to ever greater levels of profitable scale while maintaining rock-solid rapport and lifelong client relationships.

The Required Experience, Skills, Abilities & Attributes You'll Bring

  • ​5+ years of experience and a varied track record in digital advertising and direct response marketing.
  • Proven leadership skills having experience managing and motivating teams
  • A deep and comprehensive understanding of direct response marketing strategies and 'Funnel Math'
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Facebook, Google and TikTok Advertising platforms, advertising KPI terminology and benchmarks for various industries
  • A great eye for offers and how successful ad campaigns plug together at a high level
  • Strong persuasive copywriting skills - you’re able to copy-chief for media buyers and help brainstorm ad angles and hooks
  • Best in class in project management skills using software like ClickUp to ensure delivery prompt and nothing gets missed
  • Crystal clear, high E.Q. communication skills. Ability to persuade and influence in order to drive effective campaign strategy decision sign-off and accountability.

  • Client Accounts are growing evidenced by monthly ad spend increasing by minimum 10-20% per month until optimal, max spend threshold is reached and maintained, all while key KPIs remain within target.
  • Team and clients are always 100% crystal clear on the immediate next, most needle driving steps in each account.
  • Team and clients are held accountable for their responsibilities and rank ordered priorities.
  • The CEO and senior leadership team can see, at a glance, exactly how every client account is progressing. KPIs, next steps, constraints and projects.
  • Outstanding relationships maintained with clients evidenced by long standing relationships, continual high standards of feedback and new client lead introductions being elicited from existing clients.
  • Consistent Net Promoter Score of 8+ (Target is 9+).
  • Anticipate and promote the pathway for new business referrals both via the clients you are responsible for and potential clients (one new client interview per month scheduled and attended by a referred lead as a result of client referral or professional introduction to the Sales team).
