Your role as Advanced Google/YouTube Media Buyer is to drive and implement advanced media buying strategy on the Google platform.

By deeply understanding our client's key goals and business needs, you will drive the strategy, and advise on the creative direction while having everything you need to be successful readily available to you

You will work collaboratively alongside a team of world class, passionate experts in their respective fields.

You will constantly find new ways to scale our clients to seven figures per month in profitable ad spend and beyond.

You are a highly disciplined media buyer who makes decisions informed by data, and you bring years of experience to add new, educated creativity to scale campaigns in quantum leaps.

You know how to read not just metrics, but (crucially) also analyze and report on how creative is impacting ad performance to liaise with your account manager and creative strategist to feed new tests and rapid creative iteration back into campaigns.

Responsibilities

Media Buying

  • Advanced media buying implementation and scaling on all Google placements, with a strong focus on YouTube
  • Rapid testing of new ad creatives while maintaining budget balance to keep CPA within target
  • Scale budgets profitably taking into account client capacity and cashflow
  • Track data across not just the platform, but also in third party attribution software such as Hyros, Wicked Reports, ClickMagick and our own custom solutions
  • Continual improvement of lead quality informed by maintaining alignment with clients’ back-end sales data
  • Maintenance of audience health and accuracy including management of custom seed audiences
  • Remain ahead of the competition’s knowledge with new trends, opportunities and strategies (self-guided professional development)
  • Split-testing hooks on successful ads and refining YouTube ad creative for optimal performance and maximum profitability
  • Timely and perfectly accurate daily reporting on daily spend and performance
  • Pro-active creative request submissions - You drive the strategic needs, our creative department scripts, produces and delivers what you need to scale accounts
  • You are constantly trying to beat the control by submitting new creative iteration requests

Strategy

  • ​Planning, internal presentation and implementation of high-level media buying strategy to achieve client goals and constantly increase spend profitably
  • Identification of highest value lead attributes to inform targeting and creative decisions
  • Liaison with Account Manager to present recommendations and obtain sign-off on significant strategic decisions
  • Identification of end-customer attributes, pains, desires, frustrations to present back to creative strategists to inform new creative initiatives
  • Competitor analysis to inform new creative and media buying opportunities
  • Self-directed professional development, keeping up to speed with platform and Google media buying trends and opportunities
  • Alignment of your media buying strategy with clients’ direct response sales funnel strategy (a deep understanding of direct response sales funnels in order to determine and remaining focused on ‘north star KPIs’ that drive profitability in addition to front-end CPAs and soft metrics

Results

  • Continual improvement of profitable lead and purchase volume​
  • Continual scaling of ad spend budget (10-20% per month until reasonable saturation level is reached)
  • Continual improvement of lead quality and subsequently back-end profitability
  • Timely onboarding of new clients and build out of new campaigns
  • Scaling campaigns to seven figures per month ($1million +) in ad spend
  • Maintain client profitability and hit target KPIs both on the front end (acquisition cost) and the back end (lead quality maintenance)
  • Daily reporting and feedback of campaign performance, insights and next steps
  • Fluid communication with key stakeholders resulting in crystal clear visibility of metrics and strategy
  • Documentation maintained on 'what we've learned along the way' regards to audience, creative, strategy so that we never re-tread trodden ground and never have to learn the same lesson twice
  • Project management tasks and projects are updated and accurate, with due dates hit or where necessary adjusted with updates
  • Account Manager (and subsequently clients) are always aware of the next 3 strategic moves planned, and the next 3 things you require from them to make Google/YouTube campaigns successful and scale

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a Google/YouTube Media buyer, managing campaigns with budgets in excess of $750k/month
  • 5+ years working in digital marketing with a deep understanding of direct response funnel strategy
  • Deep understanding of direct response marketing funnels, back-end, high-ticket sales, email marketing as it relates to media buying decision making
  • Proven ability to strategise budget, creative and media buying for campaigns spending in excess of $1M per month in profitable ad spend
  • Advanced level understanding of third party tracking platforms such as Hyros, WickedReports, ClickMagick etc.
  • Advanced level understanding and implementation of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics tools.
  • Competent with project management and communication software such as ClickUp, Slack, Loom, Zoom etc.
