THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a Direct Response Copywriter with a razor sharp sense of humour and marketing chops that would make David Ogilvy weep to write video ad scripts and highly compliant ad copy. 

You MUST have a deep understanding of direct response marketing principles and the ability to write words that entertain, engage and drive people to take action.

Working alongside some of the best YouTube and Facebook media buyers in the industry and as part of the team that puts creativity first, your imagination will be the secret sauce that turns our clients’ brands and marketing messages into creative ads that leave our competitors in the dust.

We produce a variety of ad types depending on the subject matter and client. From cartoon story ads to piece-to-camera ads featuring the client. 

It’ll be your job to take the client’s business, decide what’s going to resonate best with their customers and turn it into ad scripts and storyboards that will turn strangers into superfans and long-term, high-value buyers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking clients’ stories and turning them into ad scripts that grab and hold people’s attention and turn the clients into a hero through sensei level storytelling
  • ​The ability to bring ad scripts to a ‘round-house’ call to action that converts strangers into customers in droves
  • ​Conceptualization of ‘Big Marketing Ideas’ from the clients’ subject matter that seize the attention and curiosity of their absolute dream customers
  • ​Application of humour where appropriate to build human connection and obliterate trust barriers
  • ​Working with clients to provide them a deep understanding of the scripts you’ve written and how best they should perform them where necessary
  • ​Development of scripts into a highly visual storyboard format for cartoonists where necessary
  • ​Liaising with media buying team to take feedback from and continually improve scripts and messaging based on performance
  • ​Creation of copy for Facebook ads that complies to the letter with ad policies

RESULTS:

  • Timely turnaround of scripts and copy
  • High converting video scripts and ad copy that entertains, delights and gets the sale
  • ​Positive feedback from clients at seeing their business and message portrayed in such a clear and compelling way
  • ​Pro-active script adjustment / improvement on feedback from media buyers and clients
  • Ads that don’t suck.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Deep understanding and application of direct response marketing principles
  • A razor sharp sense of humour, and the tact to use it in a way which rocket-fuels ad copy while remaining compliant
  • ​Proven track record of writing copy that converts like crazy
